So Tonight i started my new "show idea" The Wheel of Found Fortune..thats just a tentative name until i think of a better one.. i put together this wheel, something like the one on wheel of fortune and there are 10 dollar amounts up on the wheel from (4) 10 dollars bills (5) 20 dollar bills and (1) 50 dollar bill, i will spin this each night and the dollar amount that comes up, I will hide somewhere in Nyack ie..under a brink, in a balloon, in a hole, lamp post..ect, that night after i places to money i will give a clue, and or puzzle to lead you to the money..stupid idea huh..well i like burying treasure around Nyack ( i am a pirate afterall). so tune in each night for the clues and riddle or puzzle. I will mention the clues on each hour through out the show. Hey this is my way of bribing people to tune in, cause i know once you tune in you will always be coming back! I hope this catches on.. i see a some one able to make alot of money each week if they are the only listener or get to the location first.. if i spin (3) 50 dollar bills in a week thats $150, i didn't have to do the math for you, oh yeah i will add a photo clue on the blog each night also..
So i Almost forgot, i got a great theme song for this little show idea, Spinning wheel, by blood sweat and tears, when this song played it means its time to spin the wheel of found fortune!!

Last nights show i felt was one of the best i had, Not to many emails came in, but i wasn't discouraged by that. How does one continue to believe in the cause, when it is so hard to know if anyone out there is listening. Tonight i am doing a remote broadcast from Hunters, But the show i look forwad to is this thurday , when i will be premiering "My So Called Life on the Radio" i willbe planning this out the next couple day, and it will take place downtown in Nyack.. be sure to tune in, and also on the internet.

  • 5/8/05 - Iron Action Radio Does Street Theatre? [link to this story]

Nyack's full-on microbroadcast maven, DJ Johnny Silver, has announced "My so called Life on the Radio" - "i walk around Nyack in total disquise, and visit the diffrent establishments, and do 'real radio' getting myself in diffrent situations that are stimulating and fun for listeners....Each disquise will be a totally different radio character, and have a totally different personality." Radio doesn't get much more local than that.

There's already been discussion about whether Silver is crazy; I believe this pretty much confirms it, in a most excellent way. Did I mention this "My so called Life on the Radio" will be done live? Apparently Thursdays are Iron Action's "Remote Broadcast Night," and this will be one of the rotating summer programs.

  • Friday nights show was interrupted by a suspicious looking vehicle stopping in front of the transmitter site, and continuously driving forward then backing up about 5 times. All i can think of is the FCC taking power readings off the antenna, and trying to locate the tx site. I turned it off right away, and the car drove off, I needed to know if it was the feds so i waited 15 min and went back on the air..sure enough the car returned, this time accompanied by a mini van, i shut off again and didn't return to the air that night.. the whole weekend i thought about what was i going to do Monday night, return to the airwaves, or let things cool off for a week or 2.. I got in this for the love of radio and especially small community radio, something Nyack can't possibly get without someone taking things into there own hands. Not that i want to be the savior to Nyacks Radio problem, or lack of. It's the reaction i am getting each day from new listeners that is encouraging me to continue. To know you are sending your voice out into the night and having people tune in to hear your thoughts, your music, to get informed about "their" community that they live in. The events, the politics.. there is just so much..the risk is worth it. I don't want to Hide, or run trying to broadcast, after a while that gets tiring, but at this time i have the energy, thanks to my listeners, so tonight i move the station again, trying to keep on step ahead, and i will plan the next step, and the one after that. So tune in Listen to Local Community radio, Pirate radio in it's purest form, and if you hear the station go off the Air all of a sudden, then its just me staying one step ahead!

Tune in tonight 102.5fm 9p-2am and every night
DJ Johnny Silver
